In the middle of the small Italian village of Uggiano la Chiesa, just 10 minutes from the sea, lies the exclusive design house Casa Pizzelli. Renovated by Swedish-Italian couple Maj-La and Claudio, the house is a stunning mix of Italian authenticity and Scandinavian design. Casa Pizzelli sleeps 8 (plus 2) people and is a great place to get together with family and friends, spend long summer evenings around the dining table and enjoy il dolce far niente.
Maj-La Pizzelli is one of the most experienced fashion names in Sweden and has used her sense of style and eye for detail to renovate this beautiful village house in Puglia. Upon entering, you are greeted by lots of light and an understated and sophisticated style. The minimalist design with clean lines, natural materials and high-end furniture, is combined with the charm of the south. Characteristic features such as the authentic facade and vaulted ceilings were carefully preserved and the decorated terrazzo floors and ceiling decorations were restored to their original splendor. Relax and enjoy all the luxury and comfort Casa Pizzelli has to offer, such as: spacious bedrooms with comfortable box spring beds, luxurious bathrooms with walk-in showers, a beautiful designer kitchen and several terraces with inviting lounge areas.
Large steel doors lead from the spacious living room to the spacious garden of Casa Pizzelli. Although the house is located in the middle of the village, you have a lot of privacy in the courtyard garden. In the evening you will want to dine at the large dining table; the perfect place to enjoy a barbecue and a drink on a beautiful summer evening. Further on you will find the Mediterranean garden with olive trees and palms. Via the outside stairs you reach the terrace on the second floor and next to it there is a rooftop terrace with a beautiful view over the typical Italian village houses and in the distance the sea. In short, enough space for all guests to read, sunbathe, chat or cool off in the pool.
Casa Pizzelli is an oasis of peace and a dream for design lovers. Moreover, it is the perfect base to discover Puglia. You are only 5 minutes walk away from the village square where you can get freshly baked bread, eat a gelato and find some nice restaurants. In addition, you are within 10 minutes at the sea and you can easily reach the impressive city of Lecce.

Casa Pizzelli is quietly located in the village of Uggiano la Chiesa, in southern Puglia. In this village you will find small cafes to drink a cappuccino in the morning and several restaurants. Just 10 minutes away you will find the Adriatic coast, with many beautiful sandy beaches and bays with beautiful clear blue waters. You can also easily reach the Ionian coast within 50 minutes.
Drive to the town of Castro (16 km) and take the boat to the fascinating Grotto Zinzulusa. This spectacular cave resembles a rocky mouth that opens into the sea. In the maze of colorful stalactites and stalagmites, you can take a guided tour and learn about this special geological phenomenon. You can also swim and snorkel outside the cave in the clear blue waters.
In addition, you can visit the great city of Lecce (45 km), with its ancient architecture, pleasant squares with terraces and a maze of winding streets; getting lost here is not a problem at all. Lecce is also called the "Florence of the South" and is known for its "Barocco Leccese" style - the exuberant decorations that adorn the many churches and palaces in the city. In addition, Lecce has great stores and good restaurants for a delicious local dinner! Other nice places include Santa Cesarea Terme (11 km), a town overlooking the sea, in an area of extraordinary beauty that is part of the Costa Otranto National Park. Here you will find a rocky coastline with sea caves. Or drive for example to Nardo, a beautiful town with imposing villas and palaces, charming streets and fine restaurants. You can also drive a little further, towards Ostuni (125 km), past the villages with the characteristic white Trulli houses, surrounded by unspoiled nature and centuries-old olive trees.
You can fly to Brindisi (96 km) or Lecce (55 km).
