Château Capitoul is located in the south of France in the Languedoc region, an area stretching along the Mediterranean from the Cote d'Azur to the Spanish border. Languedoc has a perfect Mediterranean climate with short, mild winters and long, hot summers. This is one of the sunniest regions in France, with more than 300 days of sunshine a year, even in winter there is a good chance of good weather. Autumn and spring bring warm days and cool evenings, with occasional rain - but it never lasts long.
This charming region is home to extensive vineyards, beautiful sandy beaches, national parks, bustling towns and villages, good local cuisine, a fascinating history and plenty of culture. From your villa you look out over the Mediterranean Sea and the pink salt plains with parading flamingos.
Within 20 minutes by bike or a short car ride you are in Narbonne (10 km), a pleasant city with Roman remains, old cathedrals and several good restaurants. You can also cycle from the estate to Gruissan (5 km) within 15 minutes. This coastal town is situated between the beach and the salt flats, which makes for a unique setting.
