Journey into the heart of the small Salento village of Neviano to experience the charm and elegance of Palazzo Nianu. This beautiful townhouse for six invites you to rest, rejuvenate and recharge in its light and sophisticated interiors that have been painstakingly restored by renowned interior architect Georg Kayser and Puglian architect Alessandro Venneri. Get a taste of the slow and easy-going authentic Italian lifestyle with all the comforts of home in a property that celebrates the ‘less is more’ philosophy.
The one-storey house sits on a quiet street, between the town church and the central square. The replastered walls and floors, distressed wooden doors, stone stairways and vaulted ceilings of the old townhouse come alive in the sparse new interiors highlighted by beautiful patterned tiles and a fresco ceiling.
Pallazzo Nianu has three stunning bedrooms, one ensuite and one shared bathroom, a bright kitchen and a central dining room for hearty meals and conversations. An outdoor eating area shaded by a light pergola extends out from the kitchen, creating a cosy setting for brunch, coffee or even a light dinner. Palazzo Nianu is peppered with vintage and bespoke furniture, enticing seating nooks, and exquisite light fixtures.
To grab some sun or enjoy the colours of the sky at dusk, make your way to the hidden escape on top - the terrace with splendid views of the surrounding landscape. Grab breakfast in the alfresco dining area, catch up on your reading in the open-to-sky lounge, or take a cooling dip in the rooftop pool before drying off on the partially shaded deck chairs. It’s true relaxation, any way you like it!

Palazzo Nianu is located in the small village of Neviano in the Italian province of Lecce in Puglia. One of south Italy’s most famous ancient towns, Puglia is renowned for its trulli houses, olive groves and vineyards as far as the eye can see. Neviano is a cosy little comune in the midst of lush green cover. The town has outdoor cafes, wine and food bars and restaurants serving hearty meals. The Neviano church and town centre are both a stone’s throw away from the house.
Replete with baroque architecture, Lecce is called the ‘Florence of the South’ and the ‘Heel of Italy’, and rightly so, owing to its rich history and splendorous natural landscape. Lecce (35 km) is a short drive away, and great for spending a day exploring its many cathedrals, museums and restaurants. If you’re interested in learning about a bit of the area’s history and architecture, head to the Lecce Cathedral (33 km) or Gallipoli Cathedral (17 km) to see the grandeur of baroque architecture, and art and historical paintings up close.
Wine lovers will especially enjoy the vineyards around the locale, especially the Cantina Petrelli (36 km) in Salento, where you can enjoy a sunny outdoor picnic with a wine tasting.
A short drive from the coast, the property is a great base for taking a boat out into the sea. The Gallipoli boat dock (16 km) is the perfect spot to rent a boat or yacht and head out into the azure waters of the Ionian Sea, with a quick pit stop at the Isola Sant’Andrea Lighthouse at sunset. If you prefer to laze around and soak up some sun, there are a number of beautiful beaches a short distance away. The fun vibe and buzzing nightlife of Baia Verde Beach (16 km) are crowd pullers. Adventure seekers will enjoy jumping off the small cliffs into the refreshing waters of the Porto Selvaggio Beach (23 km), and Della Purita (18 km) is ideal for sunbathing on an umbrella chair or dipping your feet into the shallow sandy waters of the sea.
Brindisi Airport (80 km) in Salento is the nearest airport. Bari International Airport (198 km) is a little further away.
